Soulmate Poster Series
The objective of this project was to write a poem and design and execute a poster series of three. Two will be using my personal poem and the third will be sourced from a selection of students poems from my class. I started by researching and seeking inspiration from Swiss Typographic Design/International Style. The main goal is to create hierarchy through contrast and use a modular grid, but my designs will employ many other design principles.
A challenge that I faced was designing the first set of posters in Illustrator. Although my thumbnails helped tremendously, it was tricky to work with hierarchy, placement, and spacing between the stanzas . After many critiques, I was able to redesign it and make all the posters tell a story and work cohesively.

I am from being born with a bone disorder, Achondroplasia.
From endless nights crying and being bullied my whole childhood.
I am from being too short to reach anything and getting death threats from people because of my size.
I am from finding light when I finally found my best friend, Macy, at the age of 6.
From not seeing me as different and being there throughout all my surgeries.
I am from finding my soulmate and life-long best friend.
From endless sleepovers at my house throughout our childhood and now living in the same city together in our 20s.
I am from finding peace knowing that all those nights crying because of how different I felt from everyone else, lead me to my person.
